Lieutenant Bonanno arrived in front of the apartment of Nathan Ford. He thought he heard the excited voices inside and that something big was moved. Jack soon as the ear, trying to figure out what was going on. However hard he tried, however, failed. That precious and antique candelabra only they could have stolen it, especially for sophisticated means and machinations that were put in place, he felt obliged - more as a policeman and as a man, he had to admit - to go and check what c ' entered them in all that business.
rang the bell.
The noise just before they disappeared instantly, the voices died away. It took about ten seconds before he heard footsteps approaching and that he be open. In front him, he had one - in every sense - disheveled and sweaty Nathan Ford.
"Lieutenant Bonanno," greeted him, leaning against the door frame. If he was amazed, I do not see those. "What good wind brings you here?"
Bonanno glanced inside, but Nathan stood in front, making it impossible to look at what happened in the apartment.
'It was stolen a valuable and very old candlestick, "he declared then. 'Is said to have belonged to George Washington himself. Now, the security systems were not violated and the only one who was seen with the owner in the last twenty-four hours is strangely you, Mr. Ford. Sa explain it? " showed him a photograph taken by a surveillance camera where you could see Nathan, dressed in a white suit and a tie from the floral pattern of questionable taste. The picture he had taken while she was performing in a really grotesque grimace.
Nathan shook his head, curling his lips into a grimace a lot of convincing. "Oh, no. But you know, Lieutenant, "he smiled, cheeky. "There are so many guys who look like me ... my face is a pretty common ... "
Bonanno he put the photo in the inside pocket of his coat. "Ford agrees not resist. I'll be back with a warrant, you know? "
" Yes, of course, return as well. "Nathan replied, oblivious. "I want to help, though, if I permits. "
Bonanno replied with a sarcastic smile. "Help me? If you want help, not hinder me. "
" I have no intention to hinder, perhaps - and just maybe - I know something that his candlestick. They are just rumors bilge, though. I can tell you what a little bird told me, nothing more. "Nathan is parried.
Bonanno pursed lips that guy was more blatant than what he already knew. "Take the bird sing, Ford." Snapped.
"As you wish." Said Nathan, helpful with a smile and very little to recommend it. Not that of a man who was innocent, he thought Bonanno. "This candlestick, perhaps, might belong to a poor old woman, whose last memory of her husband was stolen by that guy who, apparently, was robbed by a gang of thieves very smart. The guy said, long ago, the old fraud, which, to be able to pay its debts, was forced to sell the candle which was then bought back from this guy. The problem is that there is no evidence that fraud has taken place e. .. Perhaps the old woman could have asked for help because of the villains had returned the light, heirloom for generations. "stopped, grimacing and raising one shoulder. "George Washington, you say?"
glanced Bonanno's chilling. "Controller." He said.
"Good day." Wished him Nathan. "Oh, Lieutenant?"
Bonanno stopped by to take another step toward the elevator and turned around, asking with his eyes what he wanted, yet.
"It's not that ... know, for the favor ... could give me that picture? "
